really bad news
Aug. 24th, 2003 08:39 pmFrom majafigga at the JJB (who has been previously accurate):
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Jive will not be releasing JC's single this week. Alot of drama is going on as most of you have already guessed. Hopefully sometime between this week and next week there will be an announcement from either him or Jive as to when we will hear something. I do know for a fact that a single will be released this year, but as for the album, that is another ordeal. Although Jive is greatly to blame in this, there are not completely at fault. Alot of things go into setting up an album launch and sometimes all parties don't agree. ALL ARTISTS go through this (just ask P!nk, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, etc.), so it's not going to be different for JC. The sad part is it is not his publicist or his marketing people at the label that are causing the problems. Just be aware that there is more to a story than one side and all parties involved have their reasons and or motives (you've got the artist, their management and the label which has MANY layers and players involved on one project).
What JC will bring to the table will be very different from Justin (as most of you have already heard the snippets) but it will be worth the wait, especially for the stuff you haven't heard. Just stay tuned and try your best to hang in there...He needs alot of positive support right now.
No single next week, and apparently an album this year has become questionable at all.

Date: 2003-08-24 09:15 pm (UTC)No, I'm not being sarcastic (though I have to admit the temptation is there). Seriously, I think most of us would jump at the chance to support him in some way--but without even a single to vote for, how can we? A little guidance would be appreciated.

Date: 2003-08-24 09:22 pm (UTC)[sighs] And man, JC. This has gotta suck hard for the guy. I just hope he's able to work it out well, and eventually do his thing without too much crap interfering.

Date: 2003-08-24 09:42 pm (UTC)Why can't they just release the single & the album. I just don't understand. What could possibly be the hold up?
::pets JC::
We still love you. We'll just sit here patiently, or not so patiently in some cases, waiting for you & your record company to release your single & your album.
Poor JC!!

Date: 2003-08-25 11:02 am (UTC)OK, who is to blame? I want someone to blame, because my pissiness really needs a target. Who's JC's management on this project, anyway? Is he supposed to be working with WEG?
I. Just.
Arrgh!
I very much fear either this album is never going to come out or, if it does come out next year, that's just another indication that NSYNC will not be going back into the studio any time in the near future.
YO!
