more on Fred K and only artist
Aug. 4th, 2003 07:02 pmCurious new detail in the saga of Fred Khalilian and Onlyartist, previous parts here and here.
While poking around the Florida Corporations site, I noticed that in May, there was an attempted filing to create a corporation "Only Artist.com LLC". This is of course is one letter off of "Only Artists.com, Inc.", which is what the corporation behind Onlyartist.com. The filing was submitted by Euro Fitness Center, which is another of Fred K's corporate fronts. The filing was rejected, but one month later, he successfully filed for New Artist Entertainment Inc., which of course is the company behind newartist.com, which onlyartist.com now points at.
Now, I already think badly of Fred K, due to his history, so I'm biased, but I'm having trouble thinking of a legitimate reason why he would try to create such a corporation. If Onlyartist was being transfered to him, you'd think the matter would be handled through the existing agent for Onlyartists.com, who is a partner in Dean Mead, a big business law firm. Which is a pretty good sign that Fred K. wasn't involved in the initial creation of Onlyartists, as it's the sort of firm his long line of previous corporations hasn't come within sniffing distance of. Instead, there's this attempt to create an almost-clone name. Highly dodgy, in my mind.
